Massive eruptions at Japanese Sakurajima volcano

Massive eruptions have occurred at the Sakurajima volcano on Japan's southern Kyushu island. No casualties have been reported, and aviation has not been affected. This is the 43rd eruption the volcano has experienced this year. Columns of ash spewed as high as 4100 meters into the sky, setting the highest record so far this year.
