Two Kids Died of Thirst at Buddharam of Adilabad Dist


The death of two young boys in Adilabad district, apparently from sun stroke resulting from thirst is a result of the state government’s failure to ensure availability of drinking water in rural areas, the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights said.Taking suo-moto notice of the deaths, the Commission on Tuesday in a communication to the district collector, directed that the incident be inquired into and a report be submitted to the Commission. The district administration was also told to inform the Commission on the action taken to prevent recurrence of similar incidents and compensation paid to the family.The Commission directed the collector to submit a report by May 20.In an incident that reflects the severe drinking water shortages that have beset rural Telangana and the plight of people searching for water to quench their thirst, two boys, Madhukar (12 yrs) and Ashok (8yrs) were found dead in a forested area of Chennur mandal of Adilabad district on Monday.
