Traffic Police launched Mobile App to manage city movements

Nepal Police here Monday launched a new app in view of facilitating public for convenient and safe traffic. The newly launched mobile app 'Traffic Police Nepal' enables the public to swiftly report the road accidents to the traffic police. Moreover, the newly launched app also features information on the traffic jam in various locations as well as the availability of diversion and updates on road accidents. Among the functionalities include locating nearest traffic police stations, loading complaints, acquiring information on traffic signals and sample of questions for written exam to obtain license and gleaning information on the lost and found vehicles among others. With the installation of new app, public can listen to Metro Traffic FM 95.6 without plugging the earphone, it was shared. Inspector General of Police Upendrakanta Aryal launched the mobile app amid a programme. IGP Aryal expressed his confidence that the new app would help regulate the road and reduce road accidents which, according to him, claims the lives of around 500 to 2,000 persons yearly in the country on average leaving scores physically injured. He also underscored the need for stern traffic rules and awareness among public on traffic to reduce the road mishaps. On the occasion, IGP Aryal honored the officials from the Capital IT Pvt and Deputy Inspector General of Police and other concerned officials for bringing the app into being. RSS
