13th General Convention of the Nepali Congress

Some prominent figures have faced a defeat in the 13th General Convention of the Nepali Congress. Some former ministers, speaker and former Central Working Committee (CWC) members who had filed their candidacies for the post of CWC members in the election could not secure their berths in the CWC of the Nepali Congress.With the vote counting for the 25 CWC members under the open category coming to an end on Monday afternoon, former speaker of the Legislature-Parliament Taranath Ranabhat, former ministers Chiranjibi Wagle, Laxman Ghimire, former Home Minister Govinda Raj Joshi, former minister Purna Kumar Sherma have lost the elections.
